The Puerto Banús climate and the right slat by the sea
Puerto Banús has the mild Mediterranean climate of the western Costa del Sol: gentle winters, long summers and a great many hours of sunshine a year. The pool is usable for most of the season, and an automatic cover is exactly what extends that use — holding the water's heat overnight and cutting evaporation on the hottest days.
You are a step from the sea, so salt and airborne humidity matter. We prepare the profiles and ironmongery for a coastal setting, with corrosion-resistant materials. It is a difference you do not see on day one, but you certainly notice it after a few seasons.
A cover also keeps the water far cleaner: fewer leaves, less pollen and less of the fine sand the Poniente wind carries in. For an owner who spends part of the year away or rents the villa out, that means less maintenance, less chemical product and a pool that always looks presentable.
On slats, villas in Nueva Andalucía, La Quinta and Puente Romano tend to choose transparent polycarbonate for the look — it all but vanishes over the water and sits well with the architecture. To lengthen the bathing season, solar polycarbonate warms the water using the Costa del Sol sun at no running cost. PVC remains the robust, economical option.
