Automatic pool covers in Sotogrande

Spanish manufacturer and installer of motorised slatted pool covers. Our own team travels to Sotogrande, Torreguadiaro and the Guadiaro valley from our base in San Pedro de Alcántara, Marbella — roughly forty-five minutes up the A-7.

A cover built to measure for your Sotogrande pool

Since 2005 Ingerclima has manufactured its own slatted pool covers in Spain and fitted them with its own installation team — with more than 5,000 covers installed and over twenty years of experience. From the sprawling villas of Sotogrande Costa and Kings & Queens to the hillside plots of Sotogrande Alto and La Reserva, every pool here is different in shape, size and setting, so each cover is made to measure. Every model is fully motorised — there is no manual option — and rolls neatly over the surface at the turn of a key, acting as a safety barrier, keeping leaves and debris out and reducing evaporation and chemical use.

Why choose Ingerclima

Straight from the maker, no middlemen

We manufacture in our own workshop in Torrijos (Toledo) and fit with our own crew from our San Pedro de Alcántara base in Marbella — a short run down the coast to Sotogrande. You deal with the people who build and install the cover, not a chain of resellers.

Short lead times, tidy installation

We fabricate in four to six weeks and complete a typical installation in one to two days, working cleanly around established villa gardens. Ideal for second homes and rental properties in Sotogrande where a quick, low-disruption visit matters.

Our own aftercare, close by

Because our team covers the western Costa del Sol and the Guadiaro valley, servicing and call-outs come from nearby Marbella rather than from a distant supplier. Motorised systems are low-maintenance, and any adjustment is handled by our own technicians.

Where we install around Sotogrande

We fit and service automatic pool covers throughout the Sotogrande resort and the surrounding Guadiaro valley in the municipality of San Roque, from the coastal urbanisations to the golf-course plots up in the hills.

Which slat suits the Sotogrande climate?

Sotogrande enjoys a classic Mediterranean climate with more than 300 days of sunshine a year. Summers are hot and dry, with July and August averages around 30°C, while winters stay mild and rarely drop below 10°C. Sitting close to the Strait of Gibraltar, the resort also feels the Levante and Poniente winds, which readily blow leaves, sand and dust across an open pool. That combination shapes which slat makes most sense for your home.

Most private pools here are used comfortably from late spring to early autumn, but the water still feels cool in the shoulder months. This is where our solar polycarbonate slats come into their own: the translucent chambers create a greenhouse effect that warms the water by several degrees, letting you extend the bathing season into spring and autumn without a separate heating system — a genuine benefit for residents and long-stay owners who want more months of swimming.

For villas with mature gardens and trees, or second homes that sit closed for part of the year, our PVC slats are the robust, economical choice. They are opaque, retain warmth overnight, cut down evaporation during the dry summers and keep the pool clean from the debris the coastal winds bring in. If the look of the pool is the priority, transparent polycarbonate slats keep the water visible and blend discreetly with contemporary Sotogrande architecture.

Whichever slat you choose, every cover is fully motorised and doubles as a safety barrier for children and pets, while reducing water loss and chemical consumption. We are happy to advise on the right option for your particular pool, orientation and how you use it through the year.

Frequently asked questions

Do you travel to Sotogrande, and how long is the wait?

Yes. We install across Sotogrande, Torreguadiaro and the whole Guadiaro valley with our own team from our San Pedro de Alcántara base in Marbella, about forty-five minutes away on the A-7. Once the design is agreed, we typically manufacture in four to six weeks and complete the on-site installation in one to two days.

Which cover is best for the Sotogrande climate?

For most homeowners here we recommend solar polycarbonate slats, which warm the water and extend the swimming season into the cooler shoulder months. PVC slats are the hard-wearing, economical option and excel at keeping out the leaves and dust carried by the Levante wind, while transparent polycarbonate is chosen mainly for its looks. We advise case by case.

How much maintenance does the cover need, and who services it?

The systems are fully motorised and low-maintenance — an occasional clean of the slats and a quick check of the mechanism is usually all it takes. Because we are the manufacturer and installer, any servicing, adjustment or spare part is handled directly by our own technical team, with call-outs from nearby Marbella rather than a distant supplier.
